FRP For Water Purification

water-purificationCurrently, there is critical worldwide need to better manage water resources; as the world population continues to grow so does the necessity for clean water.   In recent years, there has been steady growth in the need for water purification from all categories of users—commercial, industrial, municipal, OEM, and residential.  This new demand has stimulated the water treatment industry to improve existing methods and processes and develop new water purification technologies.

Beetle has the capability and capacity to create composite materials solutions to help address many water management issues, including water purification.  FRP can withstand the harshest chemical environments and are suitable for processing dispersants, binding agents, oxidizing agents (e.g. chlorine), and reducing agents—to name a few.  Our composites are ideal for handling sodium hypochlorite, lime and soda ash (caustic soda), and pH-adjusting regent chemicals (e.g. sulfuric acid).

We offer great products that perform well in water purification environments.  Our composites are lightweight, high strength, corrosion/rot resistant, will not swell, or take on moisture, and can be retrofitted to existing water purification systems.

DESIGN INTELLIGENCE

We have unmatched design intelligence that can provide product development and support. At Beetle Composites we can create new products as well as assist you with incremental improvements. Key product features such as corrosion resistance, slip resistance, UV resistance, flame retardance, nonconductive, impact absorption, and low maintenance requirements make these products ideal for use in all types of water purification facilities such as municipal drinking water and wastewater treatment and reuse projects.

WATER PURIFICATION APPLICATIONS

In the waste water industry, FRP are typically used for storage tanks, dissolved air flotation (DAF) tanks, settling tanks, pressure vessels, water pre-treatment vessels, reverse osmosis vessels, sedimentation basins, weirs, pipes, ductwork systems, flumes, gates, channels, troughs, filtration housing (e.g. multi-media), as well as structural and shape components.

FRP applications in the water purification industry include, but are not limited to, chemical water treatment, industrial waste water treatment, lime-soda treatment, chlorine, disinfection, clarification, demineralization, oil demulsification, metal precipitation, odor, control, bioaugmentation, and the processing/handling/storage of many chemical precipitants, coagulants, flocculants, and defoamers.
